Our selected winning plays are of the highest quality, so much so that over the last two year’s, 18 out of 20 plays were offered publication! We expect this year’s plays to continue that record.

Jimmy
A serial killer with sense of humor. Southern american accent.
What makes a person evil? Jimmy, who claims he’s a serial killer, kidnaps Brittany and tries to justify his past actions to her. She explains why she’s different than his past victims. Will she be successful, or can he rationalize any of his deeds

Greg
A tough guy hired investigator. American.
Chloe
Cold, rude, and sexy. Strong woman who know what she wants. Dominant, charismatic.
Sam
Road construction worker. Needs good movement, 30 seconds of unexpectedly good, synchronised dance with STOP sign. Excellent comedy.
If the purpose of art is to make us pause and see the world differently, what is the purpose of the road workers who have been stationed outside your front gate for eight weeks now?
Felicia
Age indeterminate but could be a lot older than she’s got any right to be. Accent goes from faded American to strong Louisiana. She’s strong-willed and frightened. She knows she’s been the backbone of her family, whether they know it or not.
A supernatural drama. From Lousiana swamps to a Scottish castle, a secret has been kept too long.
Charlotte
Felicia’s granddaughter. Minty Chiswick-type, with all the little nips and tucks. A nice woman but not a relaxer and resents others if they are.
Toby
Charlotte’s son. Good-looking, good-natured, spoilt, unreliable. Unexpectedly senstive underneath the layers of privileged upbringing.
Bernie
A brilliant but failed artist, cynical, sarcastic with a biting sense of humor. And though intoxicated, he’s sharp and coherent.
Sid
Successful, affluent, Bernie’s polar opposite.
Captain Abernathy
Captain of the HMS Headwind, full of pomp and gusto. Ability to sing.
The merry crewmembers of a 18th century British frigate have one problem: their failure to capture a single enemy vessel. Complicating things further is the infamous Pirate Queen of the North Sea, who captures naval vessels and leaves behind written critiques of their poor seamanship.
Abigail
The infamous and beautiful Pirate Queen of the North Sea. Ability to sing.
